Even ignoring that the final product would look better, and take body filler and paint better (the former being necessary to get a reasonable quality paint job), there's a lot of weird and non-intuitive stresses on car bodies, and you end up getting cracking and needing to beef up areas until you get the final structure worked out. He should teach himself mold making, from the 3D printed parts, and either do CF or fiberglass for the body itself. I mean, its still a stupid way to do it (speaking from experience building a couple "from scratch" custom cars).
